Worthwise is not a registered investment adviser
Buildware, the operator of Worthwise, is not registered as an investment adviser with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or any state securities regulator. Worthwise does not provide investment advice, financial planning, or any other regulated financial service.
What Worthwise does
Worthwise provides:
- Tracking — a record of your existing financial accounts and balances, refreshed daily via Plaid
- Summarization — scheduled text-message updates summarizing changes in your net worth
- Conversational answers — plain-English answers to factual questions about your existing accounts (balances, account types, period-over-period changes, savings rate)
What Worthwise does not do
Worthwise does not:
- Provide investment advice, recommendations, or opinions about specific securities, asset classes, or strategies
- Predict markets, prices, returns, or economic conditions
- Provide tax, retirement, estate-planning, or financial-planning advice
- Make trades on your behalf or move money in or out of your accounts (Plaid access is read-only)
- Compare you to benchmarks or population averages with the intent of influencing your decisions
- Endorse any specific financial institution, product, or strategy
AI-generated responses
Worthwise's conversational responses are generated by large language models from Anthropic. AI may produce inaccurate or incomplete information. Always verify critical information against your original source — your bank, brokerage, retirement plan, or other institution of record.
If you ask Worthwise for investment, tax, retirement, planning, or any other regulated advice, Worthwise will decline and direct you to a licensed advisor.
Data accuracy
Worthwise's account summaries depend on data provided by Plaid and your financial institutions. We make reasonable efforts to keep this data current but cannot guarantee accuracy or timeliness. Treat Worthwise as a convenience layer, not as a system of record.
Read-only access
Worthwise accesses your financial accounts through Plaid on a read-only basis. We cannot initiate transfers, place trades, or change any settings on your accounts. If you ever see suspicious activity in any of your linked accounts, contact your financial institution directly.
Consult a licensed advisor
For investment, tax, retirement, estate-planning, or any other regulated financial advice, consult a licensed professional. We recommend looking for a fee-only fiduciary; you can find one through the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) at napfa.org.
No fiduciary relationship
Your use of Worthwise does not create an investment-advisory, brokerage, fiduciary, or other professional relationship between you and Buildware. Buildware is not your financial advisor and owes you no fiduciary duty with respect to your investments or financial planning.
